The Phosphorescence, the latest body of work by Zimbabwean-born Marc Standing, presents a body of new paintings in the artist's current oeuvre - each one a masterful composition on canvas of sumptuous colour and curious imagery. In Standing's increasingly recognisable style, the artist pays homage to the natural world in an electric orchestra of parts - woven together with his thrilling touch of the macabre. These paintings are at once joyful displays of colour and shapes, interlaced with deeper, mysteriously coded narratives.
